Zach Stanik (they/them) is a recent graduate of Yale University, where they received a B.S. in computer science and focused on the graphic design curriculum at the Yale School of Art. Zach currently works as a software engineer and freelance graphic designer based in Queens.

A common thread in Zach’s design work is a fascination with the elements that define stories. What are the building blocks of a narrative? What are some commonalities across the myriad modes of storytelling? How can narrative elements be translated to visual language? They engage with these questions and more to produce compelling designs that activate stories and imaginations alike. Inspiration for their work comes from a wide variety of sources, from James Baldwin’s novels to Hayao Miyazaki’s films.

Zach has experience in several disciplines of design, including print, digital, and motion. They currently manage most of the design needs for the NYC-based theater group Compagnia de’ Colombari. Recently they also co-founded Ellipsis, a joint design studio, in collaboration with their friend and fellow designer Lauren Gatta. This site is an attempt, ever-mutating, to categorize and present their academic, professional, and personal works. Currently accepting work and always open to connecting!
