Catch 22 Chapbook
Fall 2019
Typographic study of “The Eternal City,” a chapter from the novel Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. In this famous chapter, the main character Yossarian comes across increasingly serious and disturbing scenes while roaming the alleys of World War II Rome. To recreate this sense of anxiety and claustrophobia within the reader, I set the text within narrow, justified columns and decreased the leading as the text progresses, almost to the point of illegibility by the end. I designed this chapbook in Adobe InDesign for the class Typography.
